RTI on corrruption to Police Department

Sir/Madam,

Corruption is the bane of Indian State and mother of all ills of our society.
The only recourse left for the civil Society is to seek transparency and
accountability from Public Authorities, through RTI-activism.

The rise in corruption levels in the Police Department (especially in the
lower category) has been a disturbing trend. I seek to get some information
on the subject-matter, which you may kindly furnish as hereunder:


Kindly Inform/Clarify/Furnish/Provide in certified copies

Please inform step-by-step procedure and methodology to query, inquire, report,
complain and seek redressal in repsect of wrong-doing, abuse of due of process,
corruption and bribery in the Police Department (either in general, objectively; 
or in particular, subjectively – as the case may be) with clarity and precision on
the following aspects.

a)      Agencies and hierarchies to be approached/informed/reported/complained;
b)     Channels through which to pursue/correspond/contact/process;
c)     Forms formats, models or templates of reports/complaints/application if any  
         prescribed, with specimens;
d)     Sections, sub-sections, clauses of laws/bye laws/rules/code etc., if any(with extracts);
e)     G.O.s/circulars/memoranda/pamphlets/handouts/citizen-charters etc. with copies;
f)      Offices, help-desks, helplines, web sites, resource centres/persons, nodal agencies  
         which are in place to help affected citizens;
g)     Details of voluntary and proactive disclosures made in compliance with section 4 of
         RTI Act;
h)     Aspects on which bars, restrictions, limitations and embargos imposed on civil
        society,  citizen-activists, Voluntary Associations and whistle-blowers etc.
        discouraging  and prohibiting the exposes  on bribery and corruption, if any;
i)     Protection measures provided or prescribed for whistle-blowers, 
        citizen- activists and the members of the civil society;
j)     Any other information, material and sources that can be made available from
        your records at your initiative, authority and discretion that might help promote 
        transparency and  accountability in your department;

Kindly send the asked information through written replies, published/printed materials, references, indexes, dos and don’ts, orders/instructions, procedures/protocols etc.
